The arts are a powerful way to communicate important messages that often go beyond words to speak more deeply to the heart. Local communities in Tajikistan have unique cultural gifts and artistic expressions that are a part of their identity and an effective means of communication. When the unique artistic expressions are valued and understood, they can be used to address problems in communities.

The Ethno Arts Project continued a pilot program to help people address the problems that they see in their communities by leading participants through the CLAT (Creating Local Arts Together) model of community engagement. Workshops are tailored to promote the interests and skills of locals. These events become a great way to build trust and relationships with the community.
